Lisztomania from Phoenix, the band
‘Lisztomania’ is the first single from Phoenix’s forthcoming album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix which will be releases on May 25th 2009. Video directed by Antoine Wagner.
Not sure if there is any connection but, the term “Lisztomania” was coined by the German romantic literary figure Heinrich Heine to describe the massive public response to Liszt’s virtuosic piano performances. At these performances, there were allegedly screaming women, and the audience was sometimes limited to standing room only.

Phoenix …Music From Paris
Pardon me if I missed the bus when it comes to the four-piece band from Paris known as Phoenix. Better late than never I guess. My introduction to their music took place recently but I was fascinated with the sound right off the bat and added them into my rotation. Phoenix has a modern European Disco feel with touches of Electronic Dance and Rock flowing through their tunes. Plus there is something very crisp and almost relaxing about the vocals.
